This year I will be teaching Civics: Consumers Ed and Government and Multimedia Computer Education.
During first semester we primarily deal with Consumer Education. You will learn the basics about the economy, budgets, career choices, etc. Second semester we will focus on Government. It is during this time that the class covers the American Revolution, The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Illinois Constitution.
This is a one semester class, primarily for Juniors and Seniors. This class is designed to be a very hands-on class that gives students the opportunity to get acquainted with various editing software. Students will be using Macromedia Fireworks and Flash, used to create and animate graphics. They will also learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. With Adobe Premiere Pro students will have the opportunity to use a high grade video editing software to create various projects. Some of the projects that will be assigned are creating and editing their own advertisements, highlight videos, and projects highlighting Belleville West High School.
