  • Civics: Consumers and Government 3-4 is a course in active citizenship designed to awaken the students to the worls around them.  The course meets, in the first semester, the consumer education requirements for graduation.  The second semester contains the study of historical events leading to American independence, the writing and ratification of the U.S. Constitution, and the beginning of the federal system of government to 1828.  The second semester requires students to pass tests on the U.S. Constitution and the Illinois Constitution in order to meet the government component for graduation.

  • This course will cover the same topics as Civics: Consumers and Government 3-4.  It is exclusively for those students who are reading below grade level.
  • Government is a one semester class focused entirely on the United States Government from its eager beginnings to present day.  Along the way we look at our Democracy and compare it to other forms of government throughout history.  Though fast paced and thorough it is designed to encourage students to become active in their government while enabling them to secure the necessary government requirements for graduation.

As you know, I am the proud father of Abraham, Eli, and Noah.  Abe is 7 years old, Eli is 4, and Noah is 2.  I tend to bring up stories of them quite often.  I will occasionally upload pictures of the little guys so that you can see them grow as the school year progresses.  In order to view pictures click on the Abraham, Eli, and Noah Pics link.
